For a pull-out cabinet organiser, measure the path of movement as well as the space inside the cupboard. A rack can fit between the cabinet walls and still fail to slide past a hinge or partly open door. The usable opening is the deciding measurement.
Record five measurements
- Clear width at the narrowest point of the opening.
- Internal depth from the closed door to the back obstruction.
- Height below the shelf, including the intended contents.
- Door opening angle and the position of hinges.
- Free space in front for the organiser at full extension.
Check for pipes, sockets, shelf supports and raised edges on the cupboard floor. Measure both the front and back if the interior is irregular. An adjustable width does not solve a fixed-depth problem.
Apply the measurements to an example
The ABJA rack in our research was listed as 43 cm deep, adjustable from 30 to 50 cm wide and 6 cm high. That last figure describes the rack, not the total height of bottles or jars placed in it. Confirm the current variant and installation instructions before using these measurements for a purchase.
Make a paper footprint in the cupboard to visualise the occupied space. Open the door fully and check that the proposed sliding path remains clear. Do not attach anything during this trial.
Check installation and loading separately
This researched example uses adhesive installation. Confirm the compatible surface, preparation requirements and any waiting period in the supplied instructions. We have not established a numeric load capacity or tested removal, so do not assume heavy cookware is suitable or that adhesive removal will leave no marks.
Keep the proposed load manageable and consider how you will clean under the rack. A mechanism that is difficult to access can complicate routine cupboard maintenance.
When a basket is the better answer
If the door blocks movement, plumbing breaks up the footprint or the surface is unsuitable for installation, use a removable basket or smaller groups instead. Choose a pull-out only when it creates a clear, useful route to the items at the back.

Does adjustable width guarantee a cabinet fit?
No. Depth, hinges, door opening and the full extension path are separate constraints. Compare the complete installation drawing with the usable opening, not just the cupboard interior.
