Choose everyday drinking glasses by comfortable use, cupboard fit and cleaning access. Capacity is a starting point, but the glass's height, width and rim shape determine whether it works for your routine. A larger number on the box is not automatically more convenient.
Match the size to the usual drink
Think about what you pour most often and whether you leave space above the liquid. A stated capacity may not describe the comfortable everyday fill level. If a precise usable volume matters, look for how the manufacturer defines it rather than assuming the glass will be filled to the rim.
Consider the filled weight and grip. A tall glass may fit the drink but not the shelf, while a very wide shape may be awkward in a small hand. Product photographs cannot fully establish handling comfort.
Check the storage route
Measure the shelf height, door opening and drying-rack space. Do not stack glasses unless the exact design is intended for stacking. A matching set can become difficult to store if all six pieces occupy more frontage than expected.
Look for a shape you can clean according to the instructions. A narrow opening or unusual base may require a different washing routine. Check appliance compatibility for the exact product instead of assuming all clear glass behaves the same way.
Compare a set sensibly
- Count the number used regularly, not only the maximum number of guests.
- Check height and diameter in addition to capacity.
- Confirm the actual pack quantity and shape.
- Consider whether replacements matter and whether they are available.
- Leave enough cupboard room to remove one glass easily.

Not necessarily. Leave the headroom that suits normal handling and check how capacity is defined. The volume label also does not tell you external height, diameter or filled comfort.
